Supported Houdini versions
MotionAtelier 0.4.2 runs in Houdini 20.0, 20.5, 21.0 and 22.0 on Windows. One package serves all four: it uses each Houdini’s own Python (3.10 to 3.13) and Qt binding (PySide2 or PySide6).
| Houdini | Python | Qt binding | Tested build |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20.0 | 3.10 | PySide2 | Not tested; same Python and Qt binding as 20.5 |
| 20.5 | 3.10 / 3.11 | PySide2 | 20.5.445 |
| 21.0 | 3.11 | PySide6 6.5 | 21.0.792 |
| 22.0 | 3.13 / 3.11 | PySide6 6.8 | 22.0.429 |
- Tested build: the release was exercised in that Houdini build.
- 20.0 is expected to work because it shares Python and Qt binding with 20.5, but it has not been tested.
- Other versions: the package’s enable rule (
houdini_version >= '20.0' and houdini_version < '23.0') makes Houdini skip MotionAtelier in any other version, so the panel does not appear there. - Platforms: Windows only. Linux and macOS are not tested or supported.
Graphical Houdini is required for the panel. Selections are read from the Channel Editor and playbar user interface.
Per-version data
Section titled “Per-version data”Each Houdini version has its own preference directory, so recipes, history and settings are separate per version. To share recipes between versions, export and import them.
